About Us

We are a family-run operation based on Reed Road in Upper Gibsons. We arrived on the Coast 4 years ago with an interest in farming and not much know how. Today you can find our produce in a number of local grocery stores and restaurants along the Coast.

Sunnycoast Fine Produce is constantly looking to improve our practices, and expands each year to serve more Coast residents. There’s never a dull moment at Sunnycoast, with our other workers and various family members pitching in, plus Baby Valentine and Bobbi the cat along for the ride!

Food Security

Because our community is geographically vulnerable to supply chain interruptions, our main goal is to improve food security on the Sunshine Coast. With carefully grown food delivered from within a small radius, we strive to offer options outside the industrial food system that are more secure and sustainable. In addition, the product is substantially more fresh, nutrient-dense and better to the environment in many ways. Our prices are competitive with the large food distribution companies, so that Restaurants and Grocers can realistically make the decision to incorporate more local stock, and consumers can routinely put farm fresh food on their tables.

“…as a relatively isolated and ferry-dependent region, the community is very dependent on imported food. Recent estimates suggest that somewhere around 1% and 3% of the food consumed on the Sunshine Coast is produced here. Lack of local food production and self-sufficiency means substantial food dollars are leaving the Sunshine Coast, while also leaving our community food insecure.” (SCRD Agricultural Area Plan, 2014)

Growing

We grow a variety of produce using open fields as well as greenhouse cultivation. Our Micro Greens are available all year long, regardless of what it looks like out your window. We do not use any pesticides and make every attempt to improve the quality of the soil as we go.

Our specialty is Salad Greens and Micro Greens, and we also grow herbs, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other seasonal offerings. We put our heart and soul into what we grow, and we hope that you will enjoy the delicious results!
